Building a layout
Of an unusual prototype, based on a layout described in articles in Continental Modeller & Scale Model Trains International
Although the fictional prototype is located in South America, it is very much a “British railway”.British managers, British designed & built equipment in a country developed by British finance and expertise.
FIRMING UP SOME BASICS
The layout will be set in Welsh PATAGONIA . (Chubut Province of Argentina in the far southern region of Patagonia.) The model will depart from fact, in that the colony expanded & remained a successful Welsh speaking area.
Following articles in the Continental Modeller and in Model Trains International the layout will be as the general arrangement of Puerto Paseo, an 0n30 layout by Giles Barnabe set in a fictional island in the Caribbean, called Isla Blanca.
Additionally it will have a tramway in a short section of elevated track.Stock will be a mixture of British & American
Size Approx 3500 x 600 including rear fiddle yard.
