The last show for Kanjiyama, on Saturday (18th March), was a well attended exhibition at Abingdon, the former home of MG cars. The location, some 70 miles from Liphook, is about as far as we usually go for an exhibition trip.
An enjoyable day amongst some good layouts, we were grouped with two other Japanese layouts, one in Z scale and another N scale layout.
Kanjiyama is about to be sold by Nick to Graham, who were both present plus the writer, as the exhibiting “team”. Graham will be converting the layout to German outline, modern image , in an East German location near the Czech Republic border.
Nick is retaining the buildings for a new “roundy-roundy” Japanese layout featuring high speed stock which he will start building shortly.
