FURTHER ENHANCEMENT* OF THE COMMITTEE ROOM
The committee room (our clubroom) has been further enhanced by the donation by Lorraine Grocott of a framed photograph of a steam special passing through Liphook railway station.
( *In the space of a few weeks we have had new lighting, new carpet and new curtains)?
LIPHOOK COMMUNITY MAGAZINE
In the current issue (Autumn 2014) is a submitted full page article on the club’s 50th year, together with some archive photographs unfortunately without captions.
I’m pleased the article finally made it as we have had mixed reactions to articles submitted, with many not reaching print, despite being advised they would appear.
We have just completed our August workday- good turnout- thanks to David P for bringing milk, doughnuts and biscuits- much appreciated!
David and John worked on tram track and the first trams crossed the road bridge in fine style, with assistance from Tony G and Reg
Bob and Ben were working on wiring of F.Y. with some problems- some homework possibly.
Nick continued his work on East German flats and used club plotter to cut out window panels.
Matt did some new weathering work on the river banks
Your scribe did the planning for which layouts go where at the Open Day and some preliminary scheme for F/Strasse street level entrance
Chris did sterling work on keeping us supplied with tea and coffee.
We have our first Diorama competition entry “The Model Room-an ongoing saga” by Reg P. More to come I hope!
Further work on Friday evening (yesterday) means that tram track is complete and should allow the workday on Sunday to be used for test running trams and ease any curves/ check rails giving problems.
Some track laying on the main line sections should also be possible.
Its our work day in Milland Village Hall tomorrow from 10 until 3.
Members only- sorry but no public entry. We hope to get a fair amount done preparing for our Open Day
Invite received for Petersfield Church Fete in September.
We need to know if it is inside or outside before we respond
The new lighting in the Committee Room is great and can be easily dimmed
Thanks have gone to MVMH trustees.
Last night we were without our foreman ganger David P. but John B. carried out further work on Friedrichstrasse tramway with work on check rail continuing.
Matt W. carried out some more painting on the river and an “Arcitec” tug has been purchased and a barge has been selected.
IF YOU RECEIVED A CANCELLATION NOTICE FOR MODEL TRAINS IN THE VALLEY 2014 its finger trouble this end -THE EVENT IS VERY MUCH ON
