Publicity update- local community websites

Recently we’ve added  links to the community websites  of Grayshott,  Haslemere and East Hants .

Grayshott, which is near Hindhead, Surrey figured in the early days of the club. Members came from the area and exhibitions were held in their village hall.

The community website now has details of the club and our events and our exhibition visits are included in their events calendar.

Haslemere did have a model railway club of its own and as a club we had at least one joint exhibition with them in Haslemere Hall. The club no longer exists and we are not sure when it closed.

Again details of the club have been provided, but have yet to appear, together with details of our Model Trains in the Valley 2013 event.

East Hants is a local authority area that covers all the villages from Liphook west towards Alton, south to Petersfield and Horndean  and north to Bentley on the Hampshire/ Surrey border

These local websites are increasingly important in publicising the club, as local newspaper readership declines. Unfortunately many are just advertising fronts and no effort is made to keep them up to date. The good ones like Liphook provide a good flow of visits to our own website and keep us in the local eye.

Horsham 2013- a good experience

Good days out

We took Yamanouchi Oshika to the two day show and we had an enjoyable time. Plenty of positive reactions from visitors and we could have had two invites for Y-O for 2014.

The organisation was good to excellent. We were well  looked after with good lunches and supply of coffee throughout
