A SELECTION OF PHOTOGRAPHS FROM CLUB MEMBERS WHO WENT ON THE TRIP
Two of the six members attending, travelled out on Friday 23rd by train from Liphook at 06-04 arriving at Cologne at 15-15 the same day. After short walk to hotel, booking in and dumping bags, straight out into a drizzle to visit one secondhand shop with vast selection of HO and N. One of the two who flew out early on Friday had already visited and had purchased numerous items. An amble around an increasingly wet Cologne, with gridlock of trams and cars caused by traffic accident. Found Italian restaurant and spent about 4 hours there eating and sampling beers before short walk back to respective hotels.
Remainder of party arrived on flight on Saturday morning and we met up at bookshop at the HBF at about 10-30. (No not that sort of bookshop, but the one with a good selection of railway books! OK it was next to the erotik literature section)

Lenz 0 gauge demonstration layout. Many items still awaited and shown as pre-production samples. The immediate post war signal box, using their 4 wheel carriage as a basis is a gem.

Gauge 1 layout- how standing near to a rural German railway line in the 50’s must have been like. Layout was a tail chaser about 15metres long and about 6 metres wide
