SMALL LAYOUT PROPOSALS 2012

The deadline for proposals for new club projects ended on Friday 29th June.

Only two proposals were submitted

Petworth Town – L&B.S.C.R circa 1880-90 Nick Harling

2mm fine-scale layout comprised of 3x 915 long sections, each 300 wide. Terminus “might have been” with industrial siding to fiddle yard.

WOBETIDE PARKMilwaukee Road & others Circa 40’s and 50’sTony Bettger & Bob Robinson

H0 scale circular layout with through fiddle yard, comprised of eight sections each 1100 x 550 giving a total plan size of 3300 x 2200. Designed to pack into 4 sections each 1100 x 550 x 500 to fit into Citroen Berlingo with rear seats folded down.

Urban setting small depot served by Budd railcar with several industrial sidings including Railway Express and railway sidings for baggage and post office cars.  Also trolley car route and interurban. Numerous half relief buildings. Designed to show a large range of stock in the last or first stages of its journey to or from a large Union station

DCC with sound on some locos

Cost £550 excluding scenery and buildings

Time scale Mid 2013 with additional team members

Concept withdrawn- to be replaced with reduced private version due to lack of interest by members

WAREHOUSE DISTRICT – Milwaukee Road and others Circa 40’s and 50’sTony Bettger & Bob Robinson (TB-Private layout)

HO Fiddle Yard to Terminus comprised of 2 sections 1100 x 500 plus one section 445 x 500 giving an overall size of 2645 x 500. Urban setting small depot, served by Budd railcar, with switching to several industrial units. Based on South Street- Model Trains International Issue 88 May/June 2010

DCC with sound on some locos. Servo operated switches (points). Code 83 track

Time scale October 2012 Outline programme available

Later developments- Extra fiddle yard 1100 long at L.H. end to provide through train movement

HO Fiddle Yard to Fiddle Yard comprised of 3 sections 1100 x 550 giving an overall size of  3300 x 550. German main line ending at French border connecting with French branch lines. Based on Fioux-les-Bains Model Trains International Issue 97

DC Initially- may be converted to DCC later. Code 100 track
